Online calendars or paper diary?

Hi all,

I would make this a poll, but don't know how to on the app!

I'm in a bit of a dilemma at the moment, and interested to see how others work. Basically, my other half wants to get more involved in the business this year, helping out with chasing up contracts, doing admin etc. I'm all for it, but there's one problem...

For the past 5 years or so I've always had a paper diary which goes everywhere with me in the truck. When I speak to someone on the phone I can still look at it, it works where there's no signal or battery, I'm a bit old fashioned.

She now wants to link the calendars on our phones together, so she can see what I'm doing each day and add things. I like the idea in theory, but I'm struggling to give up my paper! I don't want to be constantly copying stuff out, so that's a no go.

So, who here has tried online calendars? Did it work, or did you revert to the old fashioned way? Best app that will work between an iPhone (hers) and a Samsung (mine)?

Cheers!

Can't you do both? I'd personally prefer the old paper route as, like mentioned, you can just flick through it and find the date your looking for easy as pie.

Keep the diary write down whatever you need in there and also put in on the linked calenders as back up

I ditched a paper diary for Google calendars several years ago and can't really imaging going back. There are various apps that are compatible, and I use one called Saisuke on my iPhone because it has a good week view. There have been occasional minor glitches with synchronising between devices but on the whole it works really well.

Last year I used Google Calendar for the first time and it revolutionised our business. It helps massively with planning, dragging and dropping various jobs around - useful when the weather causes delays. I invited my workforce to view the calendar on their phones and therefore they can see the schedule but cannot alter anything.

I always back this up with a paper diary after we have done a day or weeks work just in case. Mainly as this records who paid what and when and what people earnt that day etc.

google Calendar, started taking my paper away, but I was missing something. I just wanted to do some quick infos.

Then I found google keep in 2015, which is just excellent for quick notes (photos, voice, text or combined), that don't need a shedule, highly recommend both. google keep syncs too:thumbup:
