Just brought a hitch climber and some ocean polyester cord and I every knot I try it slips.

Any advice

if you have a new rope as well as new hitch cord if is bound to slip a little but with slight wear it will soon bind enough i always use a knut but depends on your own preference how many wrap you want trial and error

As Nathan says, it'll be a bit slippery as the ropes are slick. Weirdly I use a Knut on main line with the wrench and its fine, i also use a Knut on my strop with a pinto and can hardly move it some days! Play around with knots that suit you. The knot directory is great
