UK FISA - The Forest Industry Safety Accord

 

It's a new industry group aimed at improving the health and safety within the Forestry Industry

Just gone through blurb from apf and was something in there about it. Looks like a good idea but is it that different from confor?

Yeah, ConFor is an industry group that looks out for the interests of the industry and carries out political lobbying on behalf of the industry, but FISA is a task force that was requested to be set up by the HSE in order to sort out the appalling health and safety standards within the industry currently.

 

The idea was that if the industry sorted itself out, then HSE would back off - else wise the HSE would march in with new legislation and regulations bringing us in to line with the construction industry.

Me too, Also not sure of the difference between FISA and AFAG

So most of my timber is either turned into charcoal. Hazel poles. And only about 1500 - 2000 ton handled. So that's about £30 to join right?
