Advice needed on thinning 1 acre

Recommended Posts

I have been offered an acre of mature wood that needs thinning. My only interest is in the timber for logs. I dont have the experience to fell the trees. The deal would be no cash either way with the land owner. Problem is I dont want to kill someones living but in the forest we pay for timber and in civvy street you charge the customer ?. The trees will not have been planted in nice neat rows there is no tree preservation orders from what i have been told. Anyone fancy pooling resources job is near Andover Hants. I have a good timber trailer with 10 tonne crane which will carry around 10 tonnes. I would be prepared to pay a cutter.
