I had a play with my new to me trailer last week. I moved more logs in a morning than I would have in a week without it.

It has a steering drawbar, but the previous owner never used it and the ram is well rusted. It is going to cost me £250 to £300 to get the ram sorted and an extra spool valve in my tractor. So does a steering drawbar make a big difference to the manoeuvrability of the trailer?

steerable drawbars really come into their own when doing thinnings and you have to weave your tractor and trailer in between standing timber, slew the ram and it will help the trailer round the tree without hitting it, stumps shouldnt be a prob. as you will have cut them as low as possible - i would never be without a steerable drawbar on my botex with a steerable drawbar, its amazing just where you get with the trailer, it also helps if loading stacks from either side it helps with visibility, as if you shove your trailer over a bit with the ram you can see what your doing - get it fixed it will be the best trailer and youll wonder how you would have got on without one
