indian bean is a fairy soft timber and burns fairly fast i think but in my opinion it's better used as a turning timber or if it's big enough mill it into boards.

 

here are a few bowls i've turned from this beautiful timber (the pair are still rough tunred) the last two pics being an 18"x6" i made from a large lump given to me by nepia...

couldn't agree more mate, if anyone has one they can bring it to me and in return i'll make them some bowls from it.

 

 

Took a little one down this week maybe 12" diameter but it got rung up, there's possibly 8 sections about 10" but it did have a little hole right down the middle.

 

It's on the firewood pile at the mo but can be pulled if you want it.

Kev, if you've the space and willing to stack those rings on their sides I'll pick them up sometime but it probably won't be till March; I'm committed 3 or days a week for Jan & Feb on a contract just up the road from you!
