560xp - no spark

My 560 has no spark but the plug sparks if put in another saw . Ive also tried a new plug aswell but no joy. Does the on off switch cause any problems ?

The saw is coming up for 4 years old but done very little work and was running fine when i put it away 2 weeks ago. Thanks for reading.

Check the stop switch and wiring has not chaffed and earthing and also worth checking the autotune connector is still connected, not sure if this would kill the spark but worth trying.

 

If you have another machine it would be worth swapping coils but make sure you gap each one correctly using a business card on the flywheel.

Check the auto tune earth wire that is held under one of the carb floor fixing screws, if loose will cause all sorts of issues, do not connect the switch wires together this will earth the unit out ( sorry Stubbby ) at 4 years it will be Auto tune 1, so does not have a seperate service connector, this unit is no longer available, and will need the later unit and carb if the unit is bad, there will be a part no. on the blue ignition unit, post the no. there may be some units about, the air gap on these saws was 0.2mm

Interesting, how does the stop switch work on the Husky, I would have assumed, like Stubby and it seems incorrectly that there were 2 wires running to the switch, switch either makes or breaks a circuit (or shorts out the electrics like older saws) Joining the two wires would make the circuit, no?
