Echo 350 WES. No spark

Hi all.

My small Echo has lost its spark. Have eliminated the spark plug but think it's the coil. Have shoved my fingers on the HT lead and get no shock when I pull the starter so pretty sure I'm right.

3 questions

1. Is there a more scientific method of testing the coil pack.

2. Anyone breaking a CS series Echo chainsaw that they want to sell the coil from?

3. Any others theories or suggestions, am I missing anything obvious?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Try disconnecting that black wire and try again - I would get a spanner/scwrench on the cylinder and earth the plug on that rather than using your thumb on the HT lead as you may find you have an inherent cardiac issue that may kill you:thumbdown:

The gap on the coil to flywheel looks a little large, slip a piece of A4 printer paper folded in half between the coil and flywheel, loosen the coil, push it against the paper and do it up again. Make sure the flywheel doesn't touch the coil and try it again.

If there still isn't a spark - it is new coil time.

Cheers spud.

Will try that in the morning, think it's the coil pack but worth a double check. Found a pattern coil on eBay so one way or another I'll get it sorted.

Thanks for you help.
