A pipe sized enough for the flow in the bottom & then fill the ditch with logs all in the same direction along the ditch. Tanks crossings are made this way using pipes.

Just what I was going to say.

 

Depending where you are, Huws Gray should have suitable twinwall pipe in stock. You can cut it with a saw to length.

As you say a 'Pipe Fascine'

The outer pipes are connected together and the whole bundle rapped in netting.

 

Perhaps for a log fascine, cargo straps could be put around the bundle to stop any logs escaping sideways up the banks, on either side of the stream.
