how to sell firewood , bags , loose or nets

just reviewing the way I offer my logs for sale , all arb waste that is split and barn stored for 12 - 24 months . Have in the past delivered it in a tipper trailer and measured the heap in the trailer and sold it at price / metre cube but was thinking of offering it in builders bags ( 0.7 metre cube ) because I think it is easier for customers to visualise , a builders bag of logs rather than 0.7 metres cube just tipped on their drive . Is there a better way to market logs ?

Think this is area dependant. Some on here swear that bags is where it's at but delivered a load yesterday and they said they had chosen us as we delivered a loose load and not baged.

 

Just do what your customers want.

I think you make more money doing bags because you fit less logs in each bag. Having said that unless you have a forklift or similar to hold the bag open and load it it takes longer and you have to source the bag

Delivering logs on a Saturday then its her job to put the logs away as the old man is golfing and she hates that. VENTED bags are the way to go but you must have access to a loader and pump truck. Builders bags are not ventilated, logs inside them will go mouldy, dont use them unless what you are putting in them is very dry and is going out the door with a matter of a few weeks.
