Glysophate and MCPA mix for weed control

Birch grafts carefully sprayed round with MCPA and glysophate through knapsack.

that looks really effective, what is the MCPA doing in this case?

There was plenty of muckle weed ,dock and bindweed. MCPA hammers them , but the overall combination is really effective , and cheap.

thanks, very familiar with Fat Hen !! google didnt help much with it, although having been to the very far end of Scotland, I should have known we were looking at something large/tall

Yeah ...stick a bit of selective in with the glyphosate to get a faster take on some of the more difficult broadweeds. You can see them curling their toes up in half an hour this time of year

Certainly can. Really effective on all weeds , even toe pike.

Is it legal and safe to mix them? and what mix is best?

 

Spraying is not something I do much, but I've got a fair bit of our own land to sort.

Depending on manufacturer , sometimes they will mix together as concentrate or you may have to mix separately. They can go to a gel.

Not sure on the legality have not had time to check as I have only been doing it for 35 years.
