Looking to up charcoal production this year but would realy like to source some cheaper bags than the Selway ones. Doesn't have to be a bag. Saw one chap on here using some very nice boxes but suspect they cost more than bags.

Any leads to supliers?

Thanks

Some of the spud sack suppliers can do very simple print, first sacks I bought were printed like this and added a tenner or so to the price (that was 1998 though!) then went on to selway ones but they are gettin too pricey.

Greensit: I have two 7' d single ring kilns for sale, but need work, am in process of building retort so may have two more of the same later in the year if all goes well

Keep us updated on your retort Timbernut. I'd be keen to see some pictures. I have been wondering about getting some quotes on getting one fabricated but having read some stuff about the issues with the Exeter retort i'm holding off. Stuff I read wasn't hard on the exeter retort in particular, just demonstrated how difficult it is to construct a lightweight towable, insulate kiln that can still stand up to the temperatures and burn lengths without seriously warping before you've got your money back on the kiln.

Good luck!

Hi peat, only just seen your post, I was lookin at getting an Exeter retort with some euro grant money that is available round these parts, but decided against it as I would be forced to concentrate on that to meet grant requirements and to be honest a) I can't be arsed with the paperwork/ dealing with bureaucrats and b) I like to be able to drop and pick up projects on my terms.

I'm makin the retort from a small(ish) rollonoff skip and some large 500lt propane tanks which will sit in a cradle in the skip ( it's tad more complicated, but that's the basic principal )😄
