Icey roads

Sheffield council for whatever reason have cut back on roads that are been gritted this year. Wife was working in sheffield yesterday and parked at the bottom of a very steep road. She saw a van with a chipper in tow pass her going up the hill. Lots of people had rung council to get this road gritted. As she went in to work they heard a loud crunch.

The guys in the van not able to get up the icey road unhitched the chipper to try to tun round and yes of it slid down the road eventually tipping over.

Oww I wonder who that was, did she see a name on the van?

Sheffield is horrible in the snow and ice. I few years ago a car slid down a hill bouncing off loads of double parked cars on the way down. That must have been a tricky one to sort out!

Yes she did, and the road was gritted within an hour!

To me that means the van had Sheffield council written on the side

I'm pleased no one was hurt, an out of control chipper could be a nasty thing!

 

It wasn't until recently that I found out a chippers handbrake doesn't work in reverse!
