a mate of mine has this and another one so ill be working for him but he has also said to me I can find my own work so thought I'd ask on here of it would be of use to anyone around burton/derby area and what sort of prices would be competitive and reasonable???

The tip we use charges around £45 a load on brash so I was thinking around £200 a load of brash....logs we would store, chop up and sell so was thinking £120 a load on them and £150 a load on woodchip as that would have a sell on value to....does that sound fair to you lads?? I've worked it out on the fact you would get nearly an 8yd and a 5yd skip worth of waste on this lorry as it can carry 14 tonne!!

Be honest with me as that's why I asked.....cheers :thumbup1:

Used to live and work in Derby.. Your main competition is a guy called Martin Bosworth. ( who is a really sound guy ) but he only does soil and dig outs.

You might try asking Biffa at Etwall how much they charge for green waste at their composting facility we used to get really excellent deals and they sell compost (suitable to lay turf on) really cheap at the same site.

Best bet would be to phone around all of the landscaping companies and small tree surgeons . ( most big firms already have outlets for their chip and logs .

Hope this helps mate.

Yeah I no most will already have homes for logs/chip just thought if they needed a lot moving quickly this lorry might be of use?? I know bosworth to and like you say them and a few others only move dirt/hardcore not really seen many with green waste on??

I'll get the word out and see what happens! !

How much scrap could you get in that ? You could beat the totters into a cocked hat collecting even without greedy boards :D There's one comes up the road full of flattened bodyshells from the local breakers yard every few weeks using the hiab as a weight to keep them down in the bed.

My cousin had a single axle like that and he subbed to the Water Board clearing up after works and filling in holes with gravel hard core. He's retired now but he was packing up because they were really cutting the money to the bone and he was working ridiculous hours to keep the lorry on the road.

That's not good mate!!

Can't see that happening here tho.....the guy putting me through only brought the other lorry as he is turning work down as can't physically do it on his own!!

After only 1 pm off here tho it don't look like we will be adding arb waste to the list......:D
