Hello all, you may remember back in easter I posted this photo, it kinda forced my hand, so I got a new truck, always like the look and reputation of the Iveco daily and was lucky enough to find a 3 litre one near me with low miles and little heavy usage. I snapped it up, had the old tipper bed taken off and a new one bespoke built, it's now sign written and working in anger.

I have to say it really is a fantastic truck, can't even feel our old Kwikchip 222 on the back and only used 1st gear once, luckily it's limited to 70, as it feels that it will just keep on going. It's even got a working radio!!!

Just got to get the beacons fitted and we will be well away

All in all pretty happy...."silver lining" and all that stuff!!

Depends on the gearing surely?

I know that when you do you're hgv test they train you that 1st is only really for loaded/hill starts. starting off in 2nd is perfectly acceptable if the gearing is low enough.

The iveco daily i used to drive was low geared, only needed first when towing the loader or loaded or on a hill

new truck looks smart, looks like typical arb rubbish fell out the cab on the ldv!
