Sorry I really cant remember how many there are too a mtr, we moved over to them cause a customer of ours who takes a thousand nets was fed up with cheap nets being a real pain, cant praise them enough, far easier to work with than lower quality nets!

We are using the mono nets for the smaller size and woven for the larger size, we found the customers were the same they didn't like people supplying the knitted bags but they are a fair bit more expensive i think we were quotes 12p for knitted and 22p for the woven. 17p for the mono but we don't do large quantity's.

No worries, mate. Does anyone else out there use them and want to comment. They might be the answer to a current need if they're economical enough!

there is a very large company here in mid cornwall that sells all its firewood in net sacks 48 x 60s. it advertises on its website that a cubic metre is 20 sacks! this sells for £85. we sell ours as loose and have bagged up a loose cubic metre though in same sacks and we get 33 sacks. we also sell for£85 obvouisly we dont have the additional handling or have to buy the sacks though.wondering if it would be more viable to sell in bags taking account of this bearing in mind the saving in cord needed approx a third less

Sounds like they need reporting to trading standards to me I used to use larger nets than that and reckoned on bagging about 27 from I m3 load .I hate red tape and regulation but the firewood industry needs a regulated volume of sale so the customer knows what they are getting.I have been selling by the cubic metre of loose logs for the last 18 years and still people ask is it a ton or is that a builders bag etc.Any thoughts?

New to this . I have assumed reading the threads that a cubic meter to the public is a cubic meter of loose logs cut to length and split to a suitable size for general burning in a stove or open fire. I have also assumed that these cubes are not tightly stacked but that the logs are thrown in randomly so lots of air space.

If however it was a cubic meter of wood then that is a whole different matter.
