As said use de comp . Not coz you are not hard and tough . Coz it save this happening . . There was an updated one . Don't know if you have the latest one ? Not really strong enough really . Like the rear a.v. spring on the T540 . Still; cracking saws though . I always use the decomp so not happened to me yet .....

Well have sent an email to who I bought it from so will see what they say.

Shame the top cover on 346 is not resistant to dropping logs on and breaking as need to order another.

 

You broke more than the top cover : I will give you the full list when I get back in

I'm om my second . Don't drop it on your strop ./

 

Adjusting my working method is already in progress.. not done it so far but it's been a difficult habbit to break, interrupting muscle memory isn't easy haha.. just out of curiosity is it a full drop or does it still bend if you slow the decent with your hand?

It minimizes the tendency for the spring to take a side shock load . My second one is not as bent .
