I take Cod Liver Oil every morning, I can't say whether it works or not because I'd have to stop taking them for a while to see if they are making any difference. But I know that they are a good thing generally.

The only other thing I do to see off joint troubles is when I am working really intensively for weeks on end I sleep wearing woolen gloves. A bit weird but my hands and wrists stay hot all night and seem to heal themselves. Worth a try for a few nights, if nothing else it's less creaky to get out of bed in the morning.

A lot of my joint pain has been caused by my body compensating for other injuries. Two months of Osteopath once a week and doing the stretches really made a difference.

Also found that taking more time to rest during the day and at the weekend made a difference too. Getting enough fruit and veg and sleep all help too.

Never tried cod liver oil though.

worth a go I guess  thank goodness I live on my own nobody to witness this strange ritual  think i'll try some cod liver oil anyway cant do any harm, don't suppose I can do much for my bottom half as that's mostly down to a bike crash I had years ago, but would be nice to ease the discomfort in the hands a bit

I cut out bread and heavy carb foods . Made a massive difference and I felt loads better with little or hardly any pain . Trouble is the carbs taste so good so Im back on them now and my pain has returned

I know I really should but I love my bread my mother calls me a bread fiend  not quite as bad as I was right enough crisps are another big weakness of mine but have been doing quite well in staying of them lately  time to start exercising the willpower I think!

No medical evidence for either glucosamine or cod liver oil when it comes to reducing joint pain. There is some evidence of fish body oil having a positive effect - but unfortunately this is counteracted by recent research that shows an increased risk of prostate cancer associated with an increased dosage of fish body oil.

Copper bands seem to work for quite a few people, not sure if there's any scientific evidence to back this up but if it works - it works. I don't like things around my wrists either, but if it's a choice between that or joint pain...
