Need someone for a job in Fowey, South coast Cornwall

Have a site in Fowey the client wants some trees out on.

 

There are 3 or 4 tiny self seeded trees (possibly oaks, one certainly is, didn't check the others) which aren't very big, maybe 20 feet, but a couple of them will need a rope on them to straight fell else they'll be down the bank into someone else's house.

I'd be wary of spiking them and negative rigging the tops out, the soil is pretty thin over the rock (and they're covered in ivy!)

 

The other one is a nice little beech, getting on for 3' diameter at the base.

Straightforward cut and chuck from the top but the larger limbs will need rigging out so that they don't get away. It's a nice tree and a shame to take it out but 'it's blocking their sun' so what can you do.....

 

I'd go down and do it myself for pleasure but I don't think I'll have the time

Access is terrible but everything can stay on site, the client wants the timber for firewood and we can burn the brash.

If I was doing it I'd do it as a 2 man team and expect to have it done in a day.

 

I want to double check the situation on the beech before doing anything though to make sure it does indeed belong to our client, it's right on the boundary of their land and some scrub.... Everything will be in writing

No chance of chipping, nowhere for a chipper, we're hand digging the foundations and pumping the concrete!

You cut it up, we'll do the burning.

You'll need to unload your gear kerbside, carry it up to site and park up in the pay & display.

Aaah.... Truro, done bit there as well.... Some work in Lemon Quay, and round the corner on Newham Road. Did Chris Harrison Law [the old M&S offices] as well, and a bit for Winter Rule [now Francis Clark] before they built their new office building... I like Truro, nice little town
