Superwinch H14W advice

I have a H14w that to fit to my LR. However, the free spool lever has broken off the shaft. The lever differs from the mannual in that it is at the rear offside of the winch (I assume a spec biuld for a utilities company). My questions are:

1. If I try and weld it in place will it bugger the winch (probably is my guess)?

2. Anyone know of a good dealer to try and get a replacement part?

3. Are they easy to work on, strip and assemble?

Thanks in advanced. I can post photos for clarity if required.

In my experience Dave bowyer is a waste of space when it comes to the H14w. Go direst to Superwinch in tavistock, they are extremely helpfiul. However the same happened to mine, I took the winch apart (very simple job) and welded it up.

superwinch : 01822614101.

BTW they fully reconditioned my partner's for £500- it is like new now, painted and restickered and everything.

Cheers for the replies. I'm in Launceston next week painting my LR at my father in laws. So i'll drop into Tavi with it.

I think welding it up looks the way forward. Tommer, did you have any dramas? Is there anything else worth doing while it is apart?
