i have sold a couple of monkey puzzle trunks to wood turners

all i did was stick em on fleabay

the first one i sold did good money it was only about 8 dia at base & 2.5 meters in lenght there was 2 guys who really wanted it & it sold for 43 quid!

i then put another on 2 weeks later roughly same measurements & it sold for 8 quid!

with 400mm dia i think it will be more appealing to the turners as theres more wood to work with

i think you will get better money from wood turners than you will get for it from wood burners!!!

I'd agree from my own experience. 400mm's a good size to sell; enough wood to turn something of size but not so much that a larger than average lathe is needed. I've had problems shifting bigger stuff in the past becasue of the oversize and hence weight.

Do you have any smaller pieces, e.g. 10-12" diameter? That sells best of all if it has decent eyes (knots).

I can email you a pic there is a smaller section around 8" diameter. I have smaller pieces from all the branch material because we didn't chip any of the tree.

I don't think the branches will be of use as it's the eyes that appeal to turners. The branches do make exceedingly good firewood though.
