Tractor loader attachments

Got a new (to us) tractor coming to the farm this weekend. It's got a farmhand front loader on it with quick attach. I'd like some pallet forks for it so I can use the bulk bags and IBC's I've got.

Do you have to get farmhand specific attachments or would attachments for other makes of loader fit on it? Any forks I've seen for sale recently come with Euro hooks. Be handy to know for borrowing other peoples attachments too.

Need to establish whether yours has euro hooks or the old farmhand brackets, they are similar but not the same. If the loader headstock is not a euro type you can either cut off existing brackets and weld on the matching ones to the attachments or swap the carriage for a euro type one. A call to the seller will tell you what it has. Weld on euro brackets for the attachments are cheap and the accepted layout for new kit.

Probably worth investing in euro headstock as yes it may cost £300 or so but a few brackets and welding them will cost that. Type in "quicke euro" on ebay someone sells them for under £300 or a combi one which takes old style parallel brackets and also the new style, but nearer £500.

Realistically how long will you keep tractor and how many attachment do you expect to use. We have pallet forks and a strong bucket. That does us for fencing and timber handling.

Thanks for the help. I'll see what brackets are on it when it arrives and give the dealer a ring if I'm none the wiser.

It's got a bucket and bale spike with it already. Only other attachment I want is the pallet forks. It would have been a bonus to have been able to borrow attachments from other people but not essential. It will most likely be kept for a long time (10+ years ).

Sounds like it would cheaper to buy any old pallet forks and have the right brackets welded on to those in this case. Rather than have the cost of changing the headstock to euro plus then the cost of changing the brackets on the bucket and bale spike to euro as well.

I can see some farmhand brackets on eBay at the moment and theres some on a local tractor dealers website as well but will have to find out if they are the right ones I need.
