larch as firewood

now i know it is a softwood, but what are your oppinions on this.

 

i only ask as there appear to be quite a few of the larger firewood companies on the web selling it.

 

i had some this year and when i burnt it i found it gave off an increadible amount of heat and broke down into a really good charcoal ember.

 

i found it to be quite good for heat and burn time.

 

if hardwood is hard to get now then is this our next alternative?

 

biggest obsticle is educating the public though?
