Well we smashed the climbing event this year and will continue to do it again next year.

For those that don't know what it was:

The Three Peaks Arb Ascent

Sponsored by Trust Insurance and Stein, in aid of Help for Heroes, the aim of the challenge is to climb the combined height of the Three Peaks (Scafell Pike 3162ft, Snowdon 3560ft and Ben Nevis 4409ft) using multiple fixed-line ascents to a point set at 50ft within the tree canopy. This makes a total of 11,131ft over 223 ascents, which we will attempt to have completed within the 2 days of the Arb and Forestry Event.

This is a team effort to reach a set goal, not a competition, so we will not be timing any of the climbs. There will, however, be special prizes awarded for:

* Most ascents

* Fanciest dressed ascent

* Most ‘creative’ ascent (but please remember this is a family show!)

* Oldest climber

* Youngest climber

The Results are:

Total required to meet the target, 222 climbs.

We achieved 168 on Friday, 76 on Sat Total 244, which is not only equivalent to the 3 peaks,(11,131ft) but with the Shard (1015Ft) on top!

Oldest climber Jim Chatton aged lots

Youngest climber Shannon Marney aged 7

Most climbs Arron Mc Gimpsey Joyce from Kingswood Tree Services 16 climbs (in one day)

Fanciest Dress Miss Colin Bedwell

Most creative climb Richard Townsley (inverted decent)

Most climbs over the event where from Richard Olley (Owner of Kingswood Training & Event Host) he managed 21 climbs. This is the equivalent to the Eiffel Tower. I remember a while back someone saw a photo of Richard on here and called him a dinosaur.:lol:

Top marks to all.:001_smile:

So far we have managed to raise about a £1000 and from what we have been told I think there is about another £500.00 to go in.
