ive just heard of a guy and his partner setting up a tree surgery company and they are going to charge £10 per hour each. :lol: what a joke, how will they afford insurance? public liability and employers liability and running costs?

Someone else who thinks they can make easy money out of trees:001_rolleyes:. Sounds like no plan, and no idea . Is our industry still seen as the best alternative than the dole que. Could they not try the foreign legion:biggrin: it would be less painfull ,and they would have more in their pocket.

Probably not, but it could have long term effects on everyone else. People being quoted a tenner an hour may start to think thats the going rate and not want to pay "proper" rates, regardless of how you explain it to them

Those are the kind of people I don't want to work for anyway as they quibble about everything and are a total pain.

 

These £10 per hour people are either cowboys or stupid cowboys. They'll last about four months and go back to lawn mower pushing.

The point of my post was that when I heard I laughed because I know how had you have to work to make a good company work, it takes alot of time and effort, I have built up my company over the last 10 years and have a good customer base. I have seen this before and when something breaks they have no money to fix it. If people are stupid enough to do it then let them.

They may take 4 times longer than some but will end up being on the same money with a full book of work.

Probably be charging for waste on top so may end up doing quite well.

Very professional, if some one came to do a job for me in any trade and said it would take 4 times longer than a pro outfit but cost the same I would show them the door.

How would you initially know that it was going to take longer though? Most people seem shocked how quickly the work gets done for the money we charge
