Anyone else had this. Is it a regular consumable part we should keep as a spare. Does it indicate the begining of the end for the motor and pump ?

Any one found a good supplier it's fairly large at 70 uf

Not specific to kindlet, they are a consumable mind. The cap doesn't make any bearing on the life of the pump or motor.

Call Swifty, he will sort caps out for you, at the right price.

I could be talking b@@llocks, the wife says I do:001_rolleyes:but my compressor blew its capacitor on a 1.5HP motor. The capacitor is used in this case to spin the AC motor in one direction rather than sitting there vibrating.

I changed it with a similar size one and it has been running fine for around three years with no ill effects!

Not sure if your machine is a similar application!

Yes that's right. The start capacitor is in series with the start winding and it gives it a direction. When the motor reaches a certain speed say 70% of full rom normally a centrifugal switch cuts it out of the circuit. I have seen this done with a timer but either way it helps the starting torque while its in the circuit but if it is not switched out then it will fail. Run capacitors if you have one are different

animals.

Thanks for all the advice. I will check the volt drop but it does have an oversized cable from the dis board but we are out in the sticks and the supply to the property is not great.

I think it could be a combination of 7 year old cap hot weather and new people using the machine. I am teaching them to jump straight on the emergency stop if it blocks.

I have not dug into the motor circuits yet but it appears to have a start and a run capacitor.

don't mean to hijack the thread but I bought a second hand electric cement mixer that needed re-wired, the wires were off the capacitor so I re attached them and got the mixer running again, only in reverse:blushing: could this be because I maybe wire the capacitor wrongly?
