husqvarna 236

Hi,

I'm looking to get a chainsaw for cutting up logs for bowl blanks for turning, I really want something dependable and well built but as always I'm on a budget :blushing: Looking to get some trousers, boots, helmet as well as some training I don't have much left for the actual saw

I had been looking at getting a used saw but as I don't know much about them yet I really don't want to get stung :001_rolleyes:

I've come across the Husqvarna 236 which looks like it might do the job or would the equivalent Sthil be better or something else ?

Thanks

Jim

Hi

Ive heard the 236 is not their best small saw, look at a 135 or a 435.

If you want Stihl look at 171 or 181

However the Dolmar 420 IMO is better than all of them and only a little bit more
