Hope the guy in the photo isn't one of the trainers.:001_smile:

Chainsaw training to be offered to federal inmates on the prairies - Calgary - CBC News

The cost works out to about £250 quid a head for the three-day course; considering the training company supplies all PPE, saws, fuel etc., I thought this was a good deal for the participant (government).

Sounds like a good initiative to give some practical skills training to those who could really use it.

How many people are released from prison with absolutely no hope of turning their lives around.?

Certainly beats the 2 week "bricklaying" course offered to prisoners over here in the UK.

Nice one

Local guy trains ex addicts in arb, welding and/ or other vocational stuff on a residential placement. Most of the guys make it and go into work. A guy who can motivate and train people and offer them a new way of living is worth his weight in gold to society.

That's good to hear.

We're getting some good results with our guys. 2 are doing their climbing tickets in a couple of weeks and another doing his groundsaw. Not so long ago they were addicted and without hope.

Good on you Mike for giving someone a chance.
