A couple of weeks ago a member on here posted a thread sayinf he had some logs for sale. As it was only over the fields from me I replied and went and had a look. We came to an arrangement and i paid him £145 cash. A few hours later we get a phone call to say he has had a better offer and to come and collect my money, stupidly I did not go over immedialty but told him to bring the money over to me. The next day we had another call to say the second buyer had pulled out and I could have the logs. I told him he had broken our contract , I wanted my money back and that this was not the way to do business.

He agreed to bring my money back on the thursday. He did not show up and it was becoming increasingly difficult to get him to answer his phone. He promised the money on the following thursday but again no show.

He then said he would not return the money and that the timber was still on site and that I should go and take it. I went across to the site and of course the timber had all gone.

Hey ho, I think I will just put it down to experience.

Some people just ain't wise. Offer it on a forum then sell it to a fellow member then shaft said member. Poor effort. Forum and members deserve better.

It's a public forum, anyone can join.

Like the rest of society you will have to take the rough with the smooth, but you should be allowed to warn the rest of us IMO.

Perhaps a PM to everyone (must be a way to do this) would not break forum rules, but if I'm honest I never have read them.

Just always taken them as common sense.

Damn, sounding like a UKIP member now.

Can't really see what the Mods can do for you though.

If he's local, just warn everyone you know in the area and take the hit. We all have to do it from time to time.

Never forget that Karma catches us all eventually.
