Feedback from CHAS applications + LOLER Advice

Good afternoon all.

I'm in the process of putting together a risk management / assessors course for those arborists / tree surgeons / landscapers growing their business and thinking about CHAS accreditation. The main aim is to get arborists and landscapers in a position to understand the principals of the 5 steps to a quality risk assessment and produce a business winning document.

What I need to know from this forum is whether you have experienced any knock backs from CHAS applications and why? I want to make sure I address all avenues because ultimately you are the people actually doing the job.

On a separate subject / thread someone asked if you can inspect your own kit under LOLER (I can't find the thread now). Basically, the HSE stance is that LOLER checks should be "sufficiently independent and impartial". This allows a more objective inspection to be done.

From experience, if you know another arborist / tree surgeon swap kits and inspect each others providing you are both trained to do so. Hope this helps.
