We are going to look at a king feeder shredder in a week or so. Output is 7 cubic metre / hour Load from top or rear and takes a pallet sized load 50 HP Input required.

Anyone know anything about these good or bad. Cheers

I assume you mean the Zago Ecogreen type shredder?

I hired in the very large version many times and had brilliant success with it.

It's quite surprising what will go through these, and what a nice product can be created. They're not massively horsepower hungry and very quiet in operation.

I very much rate them, but make certain it has an Operator who will give it the constant attention it deserves for longevity.

That the one. Glad to hear (no pun intended) its quiet. Our neighbour will be happy with that.

If we get it we have the brash from a huge leylandii hedge to put through and an ongoing job of shredding 3 litre pots of peat with bushy foliage. We intend to put the peat through our biomass boiler and possibly the leylandii if it shreds it small enough.

Sounds good thanks

Try Nigel at N J Trees in Stoke for the low down. He ran one for a while....

I always thought that for smaller stuff like brash etc, they were very effective. Not for big nogs or heavily contaminated stuff, but ideal for what you have by the sounds of it. As quite as the tractor that powers it really.

There is a worthy supplier of these things based in Staffordshire, close to Stoke, I'll try to get the details for you.

Thanks for the info and if you can get details ideal but don't spend a lot of time on it. We have a supplier from a show but its always good to deal with a recommended one. Certainly better to have some info beforehand to ask the right questions. Thanks to all who replied, all usefull things to know.
