MS 181 - Veg Oil and Dagum Rats!

Filling my saw up with chain oil yesterday and it seemed to take more than normal....

Looked on the floor and there was a big puddle of oil.

I've seen rats droppings in the shed for the last couple of weeks and they seem to have chewed through the bottom of the saw (I guess to get a the veg oil I was using for chain lube).

Looks likes its going to need a few of the large plastic body parts and probably a new handle. So I think it might be a write off unless i can find one cheap with a seized motor....

Bit of an unexpected pain!

Rats are unbelievable eh? guess they were hungry! I had them eat through 3 x 20L tubs of biodiesel which was pretty messy! now i keep it all in steel bins.

you do see them going for spares/repair fairly often. might be the same as 180 and 170's too?

Thanks Ray thats good to know.

I'm going to get some poison and clear out the shed, that recipe sounds lethal, my neighbour suggested cement....

Shed needs a good tidy up so now I've got a good reason.

I might just clean it up and then epoxy a plastic plate over the hole, nothing on ebay at the moment and these saws seem to hold their value even when kaput.
