usually not worth the effort...........new nose for replacement nose bar are quite expensive and ur old bar rails will have worn down a far bit, so the new replacement sprocket will need dressing down to be aligned........ personally i just buy a new bar...never had a good success rate replacings nibs

:dito:[ Hit the nail on the head :thumbup1: Unless you have managed to badly damage a nose on a brand new bar, its not worth changing them just buy a new bar.

Ive don it . Drill the rivets out , or just drill the head and use a pin punch to pop them out . Rivets usually come with the new nose. You would benifit from the right size rivet dolly and a vice but not essential . I do agree with the others though that unless you have damaged a fairly new bar it is hardly worth it .

Agree with the above - the replaceable noses are handy if you want to change the pitch of the chain but as said usually the bar rails will be well worn by the time the nose is worn.

I change the nose sprocket by popping the rivet off with the chain breaker, pushing the new rivet in place, burring it over with the chain breaker then using a flap disc grind it smooth.

You can find bars for the 576 on my website here Guide bars

Go for powermatch bars as these are the far more durable than the pro lites.

Hi rob,I've looked I your site for a new bar,but as I'm new to buying chainsaw parts I have a query. I want to order the "Oregon power match 24".375 .058 84 drive link " ,but what does the "375" stand for ? I'm after a 3/8th chain,is this the correct Bar I need?

Also,I looked for a new rim sprocket,do you have these in stock?your site didn't show anything avaialible .

Cheers,Steve

"375" indicates 3/8" chain --.058 guage --84 drivers .

As far as bar tips I just recently changed a McCulloch branded Windser 32" from .404 to 3/8" nose .In relation to what a new old stock bar would cost this option was inexpense at around 18 dollars US funds .
