Utility Surveyor Needed Porthmadog up to £160 per day

Our client is the UK’s largest independent provider of environmental consultancy, rural development services and policy advice. They are looking to employ a Level 3 or 4 qualified Arboriculturalist to undertake hazard based VTA assessments of trees for a DNO (utility network operator) in the Porthmadog region in Wales .The contract is expected to be for three months and involves a significant volume of work through out their contract area.

 

The work will involve Resilience Surveying of overhead lines, identifying trees which represent a risk of failure and as such may cause damage to their infrastructure. Candidates would walk the lines and record their findings on hand held pcs with bespoke software and GPS. The project will be the responsibility of a Senior Consultant who will provide appropriate training and day to day management/supervision.

 

Candidates will be required to have a level 3 or 4 qualification in arboriculture and have a good knowledge of VTA; prior experience of hazard based surveying is an advantage. To work on the contract candidates will also need to have NPTC units UA1 and UA5. Candidates will also need to undertake a one day training course which is specific to the network. A driving licence is essential.
