Salary - £17,000 - £20,000 p.a. depending on experience. 28 days leave, sick pay and other employee benefits.

Glendale carries out woodland & estates contracting across the southwest for clients including The Forestry Commission, The Environment Agency, The National Trust, The Woodland Trust, MOD and the quarry sector as well as private landowners, local authorities and developers.

 

Based at our established office near Bristol Airport, we now seek to recruit a Team Leader for our Avon Countryside teams. You will be required to lead the team, day to day, in a variety of different work including vegetation clearance, river work, tree planting, grounds maintenance, herbicide spraying, fencing and rights of way work.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years countryside and estates experience, with associated competency certificates (brushcutter, chainsaw etc), emergency 1st aid, PA1/6 Pesticide. Work includes general maintenance (strimming, mowing etc), tree planting, fencing and invasive weed control. Experience in overseeing a team of staff would be an advantage.

 

A level II certificate in countryside management or similar and good knowledge of invasive species and wild flowers is preferable along with a strong health & safety culture and customer care skills. A driver's licence is essential, towing licence desirable.
