Fungtastic links...

...a place for anyone to add links to any random fungi related stories or interesting articles.
To get started a few old wonders:
http://www.voanews.com/content/prehi...64/169720.html

http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/news/1...ssoed-its-prey

http://www-news.uchicago.edu/release...3.fungus.shtml

and some astrological fungi:
http://www.infoplease.com/spot/spacefungus1.html

and some radioactive fung:

http://www.space.com/3845-fungi-thri...radiation.html

That should get the ball rolling

Re: Fungtastic links...

"The parasitic fungus gradually takes over the ant's brain and directs the insect to a cool, moist location. The fungus then kills the ant, and fruiting bodies erupt from the ant's head and spread more spores."

Lets hope this fungus does'nt adapt to infect humans in years to come. Can't see that being a pleasant way to go. 'Night of the living fungi'
