Ok, this has to be one of the craziest, most mental woodcutting device I have ever seen! I want to meet the guy that built the first one!

The same guy has a friend with a handheld one in another video, I wonder what ticket you need to operate that!

 

Skip to 12.16 in the video and prepare yourself!

i'm loving that sawmill too, i'd have one like that any day.

Presumably the rollers work on some sort of friction drive so as he pulls the handle, the roller take off moves across the driving wheel. Which means you get forward and reverse drive depending on which side of the drive wheel centre you are.. Draw a circle on a some paper and draw some arrows on it to show direction of movement. and slide your finger across you'll get what i'm trying to say.

 

I wonder how many times that tractor picks a log up and fires if off somewhere....

 

But I'd have a mill like that tomorrow, be ideal for the timber around here.
