Got 3000 odd hardwood stumps to dispose of, there being dug up with a slew as we speak but not sure what to do with them now. From trees with an average diameter of about 15inches. Shredder, air burner, mulcher? Would someone burn them in biomass boilers? Cheers

Leave them out for 12 months and then find a merchant with a biomass unit

The solution is regional. If that was around here there would be no takers for the arisings from the tub grinder. All that would achieve would be to put a load of effort and a lot of money turning x tons of stumps into x tons of equally expensive to get rid of rubbish. Its different if you can sell it.

get an experienced slew operator with 13 or 20 tonner with a root fork (not a root rake) de stump and shake out the roots, build a root fire and burn them up,an experienced treework/slew operator will be able to do this. We had various tub grinders, mulchers etc on demo up newbury bypass in 1996 and compared to burning they were cost prohibitive or just useless and jammed up all the time.
