holm oak required

hi all, i'm looking for some holm oak please.

 

i live in maidenhead and can't drive so if anyone is felling one in the maidenhead or local area i would happily take some timber off you.

 

if there is anyone with some dry 3" planks i would be interested.

 

tree diameter is not a problem as i only need 3x3" squares 8" long to turn my table skittles from.

 

i would like some thicker stock to make the cheeses from finished size is 4" wide and 1 1/2" thick endgrain turned.

 

 

wet or dry i'm interested.

have come across lots of holm oak lately and asking if its any use besides firewood. pity not near. is that holm oak in pics?

no they are made from beech but are not really hard or heavy enough for the purpose.

I am dying to get my hands on some myself, not one commonly felled. I think I may have felled three in 30 years! oh the waste, all a learning curve, that bowl looks awesome

We done plenty in Devon there are loads down in Torbay which is no good if can't drive though

to be fair we are not short of them round here it's just that people don't seem to realise that it has its uses...
