Helmet for ground use?

Hey guys I picked up a cheap helmet a while back to use but it's bad, pulls hair out in chunks and the fit is bad.

 

Looking at the husky hats but confused between the models? Anybody have any advice or is it a case of trying them on?

Personally I don't wear Husky lids ( Rimmer from red dwarf springs to mind) If your unsure try them on. You can get spray on hair these days if you want to keep using cheepos.

You might want to uprate your ear defenders if you are using a chipper. Hope this helps.

 

I'll be getting a new stihl extreme/expert soon as my 3 years of good service is up.

husky fine for ground work, with chipper spec muffs. big improvement on cheepo

Started using husky technical helmets for ground work, very happy with them. Like ones in link below.

The husky ground lids are good for ground work and a decent price. If you are going to be progressing to climbing within the shelf life of the lid then it may be worth looking at getting a lid that is rated for ariel use so you don't have to buy twice

I've just replaced my old helmet with one of the new Huskies and it seems pretty good so far. Jonesies have them much cheaper than Buxtons!

Petzl Vertex Vent with chipper rated Peltor muffs so you look like a climber and get loads of sex.
