I think youre too old to become a fast top of the range, all singing all dancing climber. It'll take say five years to be able to do anything thrown at you, which will make you around 38, most climbers seem to be looking to "retire" or slow down a bit by then. BUT you could become a handy climber still, nice and steady, to back up the no1 climber on a team, and of course Aerial rescue is a handy string to your bow. So to sum up, go for it, enjoy it. You've still got thirty odd years of work in you.

I'm too old at 34 IMO but your just a pup at 33!!!. I wake up most mornings with my back on fire. my knees groaning and I'm really starting to feel the effects of gravity.

If you make strange grumbling noises when putting on yer socks it might be time to think again.

The aerial rescue would be good for you though. Driving licence first though Chipper!!!

I had no idea you were so old Mike! You poor old crock!

If you're fit (in a strictly platonic way of course) I see no reason why you shouldn't get on just fine. You might not be a squirrel like someone 10 years your junior but I'm 32 and even after a couple of long wet days with my low levels of fitness I can still move about a bit! And I'm an infrequent climber so my climbing muscles are WAY out of condition!

Go for it.....
