Best time of year to prune

Hi All, been to look at a couple of jobs and was wondering about best time of year to prune them.

1) Magnolia - I've always been lead to believe mid summer is best.

2) Walnut - not sure

3) Hornbeam - not sure

1) Mid summer

2) Late summer

3) Winter (oct / Nov / dec)

Well...... its gona be 20 degrees tomorrow up in Newcastle and guess what job we've got on..........

 

........Conifer hedge reduction :banghead:

 

Oh well at least its work in this climate :thumbup1:

 

do you have your new 4 wheeled baby helping you in the dessert like conditions up there?
