Big number perspective

In December the U.K's pile of debt hit one trillion pounds!

 

Now this sounds like a lot of money but it's very difficult to put this into perspective, so lets compare it to time, something we can all relate to:

 

so, one million seconds = a little over 11.5 days

 

one billion seconds = 31.7 years

 

one trillion seconds = 31,688 years 269 days
