Mechanical i find best you can play the pull better instead of just pull

Absolutely. The extra control compared to an electro hydraulic is nicer when pulling over a leaner IMO.

electro hydraulic when coupled with a radio control can be useful when doing a lot of skidding but can involve a big expense to claw back initially.

I have recently bought a electro hydraulic winch with remote. I am very happy I went for the biggest winch I could afford and the remote is such a luxury but one that cuts down on the work load as a conventional mechical winch you have to walk to the log chain up the walk back and then winch in, twice the work also if you need a short redirect you can stop put a block on the tree and carry on as you are there. I think the extra cost is saved on labour in no time.

Hi, So what makes the tractor rev when you you want extra speed or power when winching?

Depends on how fancy you go - usually a standard wireless remote will only control the winch - some wireless kits have buttons for throttle as well as sometimes even an engine stop, but usually the other bits to bolt to the tractor (whether it be servos or similar etc) are extra again.
