areal rescue on a zigzag

sorry if this has been posted already,

today we had a stand down day for ground control, one of the topics brought up was how would you rescue some one on a zigzag? One simple little thing we were shown was to put a ring on your harness (in the pic) so you can self belay as the weight would make you come down pretty quick without it. I know its not ideal as the safe working load is only 140kg. I was curious what your opinions are? Is it a good idea?
