Thinking of a getting a new harness - got some wear and tear in the old lumber region - arthritis at the base of my spine and in the hip and a disc thats a bit unhappy at times - was wondering if there are any other climbers out there with back issues and what harness they find offers the best support?

Do you do any stretching exercise. I know it seems daft because as a climber we generally stretch all over the place. But I had problems a few years ago after an RTA and ended up having physio. It never seemed to go away. But I started doing some really good stretching.

Hot bath, nice and supple and then laid out on the bedroom floor, legs over your head and get your toes on the floor over your head. Or as close as you can get. Then slowly lowering your legs down to the ground again. Steadying yourself with your arms. You can feel your spine laying out nicely. And then repeat. You'll get your toes and legs out straight(er) in a few goes.

It sounds weird and depending on family situation it might be better in private. 😜

But it worked and still does for me. It becomes a weekly, sometimes daily exercise. But it feels so much better.

Edit: I use a treemotion. Have done since they came out. Will prob get another next time round too.
