The Arbtalk Raffle rules and how to purchase your tickets

The Arbtalk Charity raffle starts today December 1st 2007 and will run up till 6pm GMT on January 18th 2008 with results expected within 48hours of the closing date.

We have a large selection or prizes up for offer and hope you will all take part in this event.
All proceeds will be going to www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk.
The charity was chosen by the members here at arbtalk last month by means of a poll.

This is a private raffle open to Arbtalk members only. Its free to join and participate at Arbtalk and takes only a few minutes to register. Regrettably prizes can only be sent out within the UK.

Raffle tickets cost £1 each and are available in runs of 5 tickets. You can purchase your tickets by clicking on the link below. This will take you to a secure transaction page at the charities website.
Please enter your donation in multiples of £5 according to how many tickets you wish to purchase. Your raffle numbers will be assigned to you via e-mail once i receive confirmation of your donation from the children's trust. Please allow up to 48 hours for this and slightly longer if you purchase on a weekend. You will also receive a receipt for your transaction.
In the box titled "What prompted your donation today?" please type "arbtalk raffle" followed by your arbtalk username. See example below.
IMPORTANT-As there is a possible gain to be made from your donation it is not eligible for gift aid. Please leave this box unchecked. Thank you.

Alternatively you can buy your tickets over the phone by contacting The Childrens Trust on 01737 365026 and asking for Ellie.
Any problems or issues with anything above please do not hesitate to ask for help.

Thankyou for your participation

Steve

Steve. When I go to the link provided to make a donation I'm a bit worried because the address is http and not https. I always check that when I'm putting important details on websites. It should also show a padlock symbol in the bottom right hand corner of my screen to show that the site is secure.

Am I correct here or is there something I am missing?

i've never heard that before lancs so i checked it out myself....once you put in your details it then takes you to a secure page where you enter your card details, as you said with https and the padlock.

It should be ok then. I was just a bit wary of doing it before I saw the 's' because everytime I've purchased something online or given my details I've seen the 's' first. The 's' stands for secure.
