Hi folks, a long time lurker and first poster.:001_smile:

I was given a 254xp by a friend to cut firewood for my log burner. I had the saw serviced as it was in a bit of a state, new plug, air filter etc and it started first time. I was in two minds about using a chainsaw but after struggling with a bow saw, thought life was too short for this. I bought all the PPE gear and used the saw, it sure made life a lot more easy than the bow saw. I was following the cleaning and daily servicing checks and noticed i have no chain catcher, i have not used it since and wonder if anyone know where i could get one from in the uk?

Are they still available, if so any ideas where i could get my hands on one.

Sorry for the ramble, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming it's aluminium I've made one before out of angle aluminuim. If it's thicker than the genuine it won't matter, don't go too thin though.

Yes it works when the chain comes off. As you are only doing firewood for self it should get you going for now.
