If buying from eBay you ought to check the serial numbers if you want to do the right thing!

 

Surely it's good practice to ask for a picture of and check the serial numbers prior to buying second hand. IMHO, we need to all that we can to kill off the market (yes, those of you who are happy to turn a blind eye provided the price is "right") for the tea leaves passing on their ill gotten wares.

I agree totally, it narks me off when I here that someone bought xxxx from a car boot at a dirt cheap price, either the seller didn't know what they were selling or, more likely, they want to shift it quickly because it's hot.

Just to add I am not implying that the OP has bought a nicked saw, just that it would be prudent to check.

How? The few hundred on arbsafe that are searchable vs the 1000's and 1000's of stolen tools that you'd have no way of checking to my knowledge?
