Van Mud/Winter Tires, Worth it?

HI,

 

I need some new rear tires on the van, and have been looking around for something wit a bit more grip as I live in the middle of nowhere, and the roads get muddy etc.

 

I found these on eBay, as my local guy wasnt much help:

Has anyone got or used these, or similar, basically is it worth it or should i just go for normal tyres?

You say Mud/Winter tires ....Winter tires are a different compound to summer tires to allow the tire to come up to working temp better . So you can get mud tires in summer or winter compound as you can ordinary road tires in winter or summer compound .

LGP Eddie recommended them to me as it's hard to get 15" off rd tyres for transit twin, when I enquiries further a couple of agri engineers I know said they run their tranny s on them and work well, so I've just ordered some.

Will they fit though?

My transit tyre size is 185 75 r16.

I would be careful with the kingpins as they are remoulds and don't tend to last long.

185 14 is for early transits approx 1990-1995

I was just using those as an example, dont want remoulds really.

 

Yeah im more for the mud tires than winter tyres really.

I was thinking about Kumho Roadventure AT2's when I next need a set of rears.

Mud terrain would be your best best as they can be used all year round where As winter tyres are specifically for winter or temps under 7degrees. Once the weather rises to above the 7 degrees point they have no advantages
